What is this video about?
I finally got my Google Pixel 6 Pro! In this video, I'm walking through the entire Google Fall event and sharing my honest thoughts on what they announced. There's a lot to unpack here—from the new hardware to the software features that actually feel useful.
The Pixel 6 Pro itself is a pretty significant step up from what came before. The design is definitely a departure from what Google's done in the past, and I get into why it works (or doesn't, depending on how you feel about it). But beyond the looks, there's real improvement under the hood with the new Tensor chip that Google designed specifically for these phones.
What really got my attention was the camera system. The new sensors and lenses are solid upgrades, and the video processing is noticeably better. But it's some of the software features that feel most innovative—Magic Eraser is genuinely cool, letting you clean up unwanted objects in photos. Face Unblur does what it sounds like, and there's motion blur handling that actually works well. I also dive into the Real Tone initiative, which I think is a meaningful step toward better skin tone representation in computational photography.
Android 12 and Material You bring a customization layer that feels fresh, and there are handy additions like improved voice typing, in-call translation, and some Snapchat integration that caught me off guard. The whole package feels like Google is really pushing what a smartphone can do, especially on the software side.
If you're considering the Pixel 6 or 6 Pro, or just curious about what Google showed off at their event, this should give you a solid overview. I'm still getting to know this phone, but first impressions are solid.
