What is this video about?
I wanted to put the Freewell Anamorphic Lens to the test in one of the most challenging shooting conditions: a winter night with minimal light. Paired with the DJI Pocket 2, I shot entirely under moonlight, supplemented only by a headlamp and car lights to see how both the lens and gimbal would perform.
This footage gives you a real sense of what the anamorphic lens actually looks like in practice—especially those characteristic light leaks that make anamorphic glass so distinctive. You get to see how the Pocket 2 handles noise and detail in low-light situations, and whether that small gimbal can deliver the kind of cinematic quality that justifies carrying it into the field.
The results are in this video. I'm genuinely curious what you'll make of how the image holds up when the sun goes down. The full review is coming next, where I'll dig deeper into the lens performance, build quality, and whether I think it's worth the investment for your setup.
