Node Task Runner is a minimal Dockerized app that runs custom Node.js scripts on a schedule and offers a simple dashboard to monitor them.
Each task is a folder with two files: a task.js script and a config.yaml file with its name and cron schedule. Drop the folder in the mounted tasks directory and the runner picks it up automatically. A task reports success or failure with its exit code (0 means success).
Here are the main features of the runner.
New task folders are discovered automatically from the mounted directory. There is nothing to register.
Every task runs on its own cron schedule. Optional retries can re-run a task after a failure, with a delay between attempts.
Run any task immediately from the web interface. You can also edit a task's name and schedule, and the changes are written back to its config.yaml file.
Every run is recorded with its logs so you can quickly see what happened and why a task failed.
Run it with Docker Compose using the image published on GitHub Container Registry. Run metadata and logs are stored as files, so there's no database to manage.
